Mr. Fine is a fourth generation lawyer and is Board Certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.  He is a Member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers; the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, where he served on the Death Penalty Committee as well as the; the Harris County Criminal Lawyers Association, where he served as a Board Member, Secretarty, and Treasurer; and the Houston Bar Association. Mr. Fine is also a member of the College of the State Bar of Texas and is a graduate of the Criminal Defense Lawyers Project - Criminal Trial Advocacy School.

Mr. Fine graduated from Texas Tech University School of Law in 1994 and was licensed to practice law by the State Bar of Texas later that year.  He was Board Certified in Criminal Law in 2004.  He has been admitted to practice before the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States District Courts for the Northern, Southern and Eastern Districts of Texas as well as the the District of Massachusetts.

Mr. Fine has been consulted by a number of local media stations and publications regarding our criminal justice system and clients he has represented. Some of those cases include a police officer charged with kidnapping; the acquittal of a young man charged with murder in the beating death of a Lubbock man; the acquittal of young man charged with murder in a gang related shooting of a Houston man; the dismissal of drug charges against a young woman, following a hearing on a motion to suppress evidence, in the largest ecstasy case in Galveston County history; the acquittal of a young businesswoman charged with driving while intoxicated after police determined her alcohol level was .14; the acquittal of a young father charged with his second DWI after being stopped on his way home from Mardi Gras; the dismissal of burglary charges against a well known college baseball player; the acquittal of a foster father accused of smothering a two year old; the dismissal of charges in the largest single seizure of ecstacy in Texas hisorty following a hung jury and a subsequent motion to suppress.
